A little patience with the things that plug in.

Sometimes you need someone to slow down, sit beside you and walk through it again. Foothill Helping Hands offers help with everyday technology and small household tasks, at a pace that leaves room for questions.

Start with what you want to do

  • Get more comfortable using a phone and its everyday features.
  • Work through basic Wi-Fi or TV setup questions.
  • Discuss setup or troubleshooting for basic smart-home devices.
  • Ask about small tasks such as replacing a battery or lightbulb.

Tell us the device and what’s getting in the way. We’ll discuss the task before deciding on the right next step.

A useful note before the visit

“I want to video call my family” gives us a better starting point than needing to know the technical name for the problem. If you know the device model or the message on the screen, that can help too.

Keep passwords, account numbers and security codes out of the inquiry form. You can stay in control of your accounts and enter any necessary credentials yourself.

Leave room to learn

Let us know whether you’d like help setting something up, a walkthrough you can repeat, or both. For a parent or relative, ask what they want to feel more confident doing and include them in the conversation.

Describe any household task before booking so we can confirm whether it is suitable. Specialized repair or trade work may need a different provider.
